When Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj attempted to sing “Bang, Bang” at Coachella this weekend, things went, well, really wrong. But they didn’t let that slow them down. More Rap goddess Nicki Minaj joined Ariana Grande during her Coachella set on Sunday, April 14th (and left a professional hiatus to do so). Unfortunately, the performers couldn’t actually hear most of their own set while they performed due to tech issues. It made for an awkward few minutes, but the duo handled it like the queens they are.

Sound issues at Coachella are nothing new. Earlier in the weekend, Lizzo battled her way through her own audio problems, as did Mase and P. Diddy, who joined Grande later in the evening. As Variety notes , the high-powered desert winds are notorious for causing issues. And during the “Bang, Bang” performance, Grande does her best to support Minaj, who tries to keep up with her verse despite loosing audio in her earpieces.

Luckily, Minaj seemingly took it in stride and was able to laugh it off.
This is the beauty of live performances, people. Things might go wrong, but hey—at least it keeps things interesting. Here’s to hoping next weekend’s performances go a little more smoothly (and major props to Grande and Minaj for keeping their cool).
